Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul) and Alex Winter (Bill & Ted Face the Music) have joined the cast of Netflix’s upcoming martial arts project, Absolute Dominion. German helmer Lexi Alexander has been hired to oversee the directional and writing duties. Plus, Blumhouse Television will produce the project along with the streaming giant.
According to Deadline, the events of Absolute Dominion will take place in a dystopian future where religious warfare has demolished the entire world. To end this chaotic mess once and for all, prominent leaders from different parts of the world plan to host an entertaining but lethal martial arts tournament. The last standing fighter will bag the ultimate prize and may even bind humanity under one faith.
Apart from her directional job, Alexander is also producing the forthcoming Netflix film along with John McKeown, Jason Blum, and Scott Putman. On the other hand, the duo of Jeremy Gold and Chris McCumber will serve as executive producers.
Lexi Alexander became the kickboxing world champion at the age of 19. After that, she decided to curtail her fighting career and moved to the United States after receiving some precious career advice from Chuck Norris. She has also worked as a stunt woman in several Hollywood projects. Additionally, she is best known for helming Green Street Hooligans (2005), Punisher: War Zone (2008), Lifted (2010), and many more.
In addition to having Emery and Winter, Absolute Dominion treasures a packed cast consisting of Patton Oswalt, Alok Vaid-Menon, Jennifer Jajeh, Juliana Joel, Nora Armani, Reagan Gomez, Desire Mia, and many more. Netflix is yet to disclose the movie’s release window. Stay tuned for more updates.
