Netflix Takes Advantage Of YouTube For GEEKED WEEK!

Netflix Takes Advantage Of YouTube For GEEKED WEEK!

If you guys didn’t know already, Netflix has been dropping some brilliant behind-the-scenes look, teasers and many other short videos about their upcoming varied content for a few days now, on a week-long series called ‘Netflix GEEKED WEEK’. As the name suggests, this small mini-series has been geeking out on the popular streaming services’ upcoming big names while inviting some important guests hosts on this show to talk about these TV series, movies and animations. Rahul Kohli and Mari Takahashi host this show and they have been hosting the show for the past 5 days so far (which is how long the series is). What makes it even more awesome is the fact that the show streams LIVE and it is available for viewing on YouTube!

YouTube has been THE streaming platform for the past couple of decades, especially for its free quality content and the free work space. The streaming platform has developed over the years from a website that was for just uploading videos into a multi-purpose streaming platform which features varied content such as content creators showing off their talents, an entire new genre of videos called reactions, streaming LIVE e-sport games and concerts, watching the news and educational videos, and much more – with all of these available in multiple languages for nearly every country in the world. Many business owners have understood the versatility of YouTube, and with Netflix being a streaming platform of their own – they have come up with an idea to make people interested in their upcoming show, hence the ‘GEEKED WEEK’.

Don’t get us wrong, there are multiple LIVE events that happen regularly which are hosted on YouTube. Some of the major known ones are E3 (the largest gaming expo on the planet), multiple gaming tournaments which have their own channel for each tournament, for each game (such as the currently streaming ‘AniMajor DOTA tournament), live concerts, galas and fashion shows. Now Netflix has decided to take advantage of their 20 million plus subscription base on YouTube to geek out on their upcoming shows. This seven-day event is expected to talk about all the upcoming highly-anticipated TV shows, movies, animations, documentaries, among others such as ‘The Witcher’, ‘The Sandman, ‘The Umbrella Academy’, ‘Gunpowder Milkshake’, ‘Lucifer’, ‘Fear Street Trilogy’ ‘Kate’, ‘Castlevania’, ‘Masters of the Universe: Revelation’, ‘La Casa de Papel’, ‘Resident Evil’, ‘Cowboy Bebop’, ‘Cobra Kai’, ‘Godzilla: Singular Point’, ‘Sweet Tooth’, ‘Vikings: Valhalla‘ and much, much more. This one-of-a-kind show ended today, early in the morning, but it has been confirmed that ‘GEEKED WEEK’ will be a regular occurrence so we expect to see it come back this time next year.

Check out all five episodes of Netflix’s ‘GEEKED WEEK’, which will be available for streaming on Netflix’s aforementioned YouTube channel. Check out the link for the first episode, at the end of this article.
