He was the filmmaker who showed at least 2 generations the way to love. Apart from being an extraordinary filmmaker, his influence and contribution to Hindi cinema are both unparalleled and unforgettable.
He shaped the romantic side of Amitabh Bachchan and also established Shahrukh Khan as the superstar he is today. To sum up, Yash Chopra is too mammoth a personality to calculate in Bollywood.
Netflix is attempting to do the same through a documentary. They are bringing a six-episode series on his cultural legacy and it will be released on the aptest day.
The documentary titled ‘The Romantics’ will be streaming on Netflix from the 14th of February i.e. Valentine’s day.
Yash Chopra’s films are known for heart-melting love stories and immortal music. He established Yash Raj Studios which created epic romances like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Saathiya. He directed an enormously beautiful epic called Veer Zaara.
The filmmaker also made films like Kala Patthar and Darr which are not traditional romances but have very different shades.
He is better known for directing musical romances that became the career defining films for Shahrukh Khan and also Amitabh Bachchan.
We hope the documentary does justice to Yash Chopra’s legacy as a filmmaker.
