Netflix Tudum Global Fan Event: The Sandman, Red Notice, Ozark,  & More

The highly awaited Netflix global fan event is all done now and to say it was massive wouldn’t be wrong in any sense. Loaded with tons of breaking news, exclusive first looks, trailers and clips as well as appearances from the creators and stars of an incredible number of new and returning shows and films from around the globe, Netflix’s Tudum was a truly wonderful spectacle for all the fans around the world.

It all began with everyone looking for “tudum” that had gone missing and it took the cast of some of the fan favourite shows to get it back. Coming to the main event the first hour was hosted by Lily Singh and included the following:

Red Notice: Exclusive Clip

Introduced by star and producer for the film, Dwayne Johnson who described Red Notice as Netflix’s biggest film ever before showing the clip from the epic heist film. The video featured a fun yet sharp fight sequence mostly between Dwayne Johnson and Gal Gadot while Ryan Reynolds tried to funnily escape out of it all. The film will release on Netflix on 12th November.

Stranger Things: A new teaser for the next season of the hit show was unveiled featuring Creel House, the newest locale in the upcoming fourth season.

Money Heist: Netflix’s most viewed non-English show is about to reach its end this December when the second part of the final season comes out. Gathered in a room together the remaining members of the heist discuss what to do with all the gold.

Taking a break from the above Netflix traces the history of its first ever TUDUM event held in Sao Paulo, Brazil in January 2020, that served as the inspiration for this global fan event.

Ozark: Jason Bateman’s crime drama thriller series is coming to an end but with a supersized final season that will release in two parts. The actor unveiled first look at first part of the fourth and final season and also told about how the Byrdes will be venturing into a new business this time, well the reason being money laundering is obvious to the all the fans of the show.

The Harder They Fall: Jonathan Majors and Idris Elba talk about their new Western film and how it’s going to be an instant classic. They launched an exclusive behind the scenes look from the multi-starrer film helmed by Jeymes Samuels who tells how he wanted to portray the amazing people of color from the Old West on screen that has not been done before. He also mentions about blending the world of music and films in the movie. ‘The Harder They Fall’ will release in select theatres in October and on Netflix on 3rd November.

True Story: Kevin Hart, who was recently seen in Netflix’s ‘Fatherhood’, announced his next Netflix project titled ‘True Story’ which he has created alongside Eric Newman, the man behind Narcos. It co-stars Wesley Snipes and they both play brothers from Philly who get themselves into a whole lot of trouble.

jeen-yuhs: an exclusive clip from the landmark documentary throws light on Kanye West and filmed over two decades it is an intimate and revealing portrait of Kanye’s experience, showcasing both his formative days trying to break through and his life today as a global brand and artist.

De Volta Aos 15 (Back To 15): An upcoming time travel drama that is centred around a fun story of self discovery and growth. It is inspired by Bruna Vieira’s book of the same name. A teaser for he film headlined by Brazilian star Maisa was released during the event.

Maldivas: Netflix unveiled the teaser of Maldivas a series revolving around the residents of the Maldivas, a mysterious condominium at the center of this upcoming dramedy about a woman in search of answers to her mother’s sudden death.

Sex Education: With season 3 just out, Netflix has now announced that the hit teen show will be returning for season 4. Ncuti Gatwa and Kedar Williams-Stirling talk about their most memorable moments from the shoot of the previous season while expressing their gratitude for the live fans have been showing for the show.

A Través De Mi Ventana (Through My Window): A Spanish romantic comedy film based on the novel by Ariana Godoy who introduced the cast of the film and also asked them to describe it one word. At the event the date for the film was announced that is about a girl’s attempt to make her neighbor fall for her.

Next up was young adult spotlight that offered a first look at the upcoming global teen projects like including AlRawabi School for Girls, Bienvenidos a Edén, Blood & Water season 2, Chosen, Colin in Black & White, dear White People: Volume 4, Elite Season 5, Invisible Thread, Las Niñas de Cristal, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Locke & Key Season 2, Lost in Space Season 3, Love 101 Season 2, Night Teeth, On My Block Season 4, Open Your Eyes and There’s Someone Inside Your House.

Dark Desire Season 2: The popular erotic Mexican thriller is returning for season 2 and Netflix just a gave a sneak peek of the same.

Then there was the India Spotlight that gave a preview some highly anticipated films and series from India and about which we have already covered in detail a separate story.

Bridgerton: The new and the old cast chat about the first season and how it feels to be a part of a hit show that went on to become a global phenomenon. While it’s known that the show is coming back with a scandalous new season in 2022, here’s a first look of what already looks pretty intriguing.

The second part of the Tudum event was hosted by Finn Wolfhard and Caleb McLaughlin who started with listing out the titles that were about to come up in the next hour of the event.

The Sandman: A much awaited dark fantasy series based on the acclaimed comic books created for DC by Neil Gaiman who thinks that the three decades long wait for the fan favourite comic to get adapted for screens was in fact a blessing. He further introduced Tom Sturridge who plays the role of Dream and unveiled the first look for the series; and Kirby Howell-Baptiste who plays Death in the series and announced that the show’s social media handles are now live.

Anime Spotlight: This section featured the talent, creators and first looks of anime favourites like Aggretsuko, Bright: Samurai Soul, Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Eternal The Movie, Super Crooks and many more.

Cobra Kai: Cobra Kai Season 4 is coming and the official teaser looks really good with new sides and new stakes releasing on 31st December.

Extraction 2: Chris Hemsworth is returning with a sequel to his hit film Extraction and the excitement is reaching the roofs. Tyler Rake, a fearless black market mercenary who had embarked on the deadliest mission of his life is not only alive but is also coming back soon!

Following this there was an action panel hosted by Bozoma Saint John where stars like Charlize Theron, Naomi Rapace, Regina King, Nathalie Emmanuel, Zazir Beetz and Elsa Pataky joined to celebrate the genre and discuss the challenges of creating kick-ass action sequences onscreen.

Bruised: Director and star Halle Berry takes fans behind-the-scenes of her upcoming film about a disgraced MMA fighter who finds redemption in the cage and the courage to face her demons when her estranged son unexpectedly reenters her life.

Arcane: Netflix and Riot Games debut the all-new trailer for the new animated event series Arcane, which brings the global phenomenon League of Legends franchise to Netflix on 6th November.

K-content Spotlight was up next which listed out the new and upcoming Korean series and films, including Hellbound, My Name and New World.

Vikings Valhalla: The cast of the show revealed the first look that featured the legendary adventures of some of the most famous Vikings who ever lived and its absolutely stunning.

The Chestnut Man: Premiering on 29th September, this one is a much awaited upcoming Danish original series. Based on the debut novel by award winning writer and creator of ‘The Killing’ Søren Sveistrup, ‘The Chestnut Man’ is a Danish character driven psychological thriller series that begins in a quiet suburb in Copenhagen where the police make a terrible discovery one blustery October morning. A special featurette of the same was released during the event.

Tiger King 2: The global hit Tiger King, which attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks after its March 2020 premiere, will return to Netflix for more madness and mayhem.

Soy Georgina: This reality series is all about Georgina Rodriguez – the woman, the mother, the influencer and Cristiano Ronaldo’s wife!

Young, Famous & African: A reality show that follows a group of famed, affluent young stars from across Africa and how they live their lives working and finding love. They are living the African dream in Johannesburg but it’s not all without the drama.

Reality Spotlight: Catch up on new and returning reality shows like Selling Sunset, Love Is Blind, Queer Eye, Bling Empire, and Get Organised With Home Edit and Floor Is Lava.

Cowboy Bebop: Netflix revealed the opening credits of this brand new show that is a live-action adaptation of the beloved anime series about a ragtag crew of bounty hunters chasing down the galaxy’s most dangerous criminals.

Murder Mystery: So Yes Adam Sandler and Jenna Anniston are here once again with another international adventure full of intrigue and hijink and there will be more mystery and some murders too.

Heee comes the third hour hosted by Bridgerton star Nicola Coughlan, becoming Lady Whistledown for the event and bringing all the hottest tea for viewers.

Emily In Paris: Emily will be back with season 2 on December 22 and she announces this with a little celebration of her own with popping a champagne. Not just the tease for the new season is here too.

The Crown: Netflix’s award winning show is ready for fifth season with new Queen Elizabeth taking charge. She is none other than Imelda Staunton and here’s what she has to say.

The Umbrella Academy: The cast of the hit show is here to answer some burning questions from fans and they just can’t wait to show season 3 to everyone.

Army of Thieves: Though there will be no zombies in this prequel to Zack Snyder’s ‘Army of the Dead’ there will be a lot of action, romance and comedy in Army of Thieves directed by, produced by, and starring Matthias Schweighöfer. The official trailer for the same is here and it looks pretty exciting. Not just the incredible cast and creators including Zack Snyder had a good chat about the spin-off too.

Rebelde: Meet the new generation roaming the EWS halls in this exclusive first look at the drama series based on the Mexican telenovela of the same name.

Big Mouth: The tease of season five is here and Bridgeton Middle School is back in session. This time the special guests are Brandon Kyle Goodman, Keke Palmer and Pamela Adlon. Coming out on November 5.

Don’t Look Up: Adam McKay and Jennifer Lawerence discuss about the film and how they would like to live if it was their last day on earth. Going further they launch led an exclusive clip from the film featuring Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep, Rob Morgan. and Jonah Hill talking about a comet on a deadly collision course with Earth. Enola Holmes: Millie Bobby Brown is coming back with Louis Partridge for Enola Holmes 2, another adventure filled ride. Here’s them confirming the news.

The Witcher: Henry Cavill who is also part of Enola Holmes sequel takes over from Millie to announce his another Netflix project The Witcher where Gerald of Rivia will be coming back for season 2. He also revealed not one but two exclusive clip from the epic show.

That’s not it season 3 of ‘The Witcher’ has now been officially announced. Apart from this there will also be a Witcher universe!
