Netflix has disclosed its 2024 slate of Korean content (movies and shows). There is no denying that this year will be another impressive year for K-Content, thanks to the highly anticipated returns of fan-favourite shows and the arrival of new projects.
Squid Game Season 2 is all set to come out on Netflix this year. Apart from Hwang Dong-hyuk’s globally prominent creation, other popular titles, such as Hellbound Season 2 and Sweet Home Season 3, will also arrive. In addition, we should expect to get Gyeongseong Creature Season 2 this year as well.
“This year, our K-Content lineup delivers a diverse array of titles that capture the true essence of Korean storytellers. Whether it’s series, films, or innovative unscripted shows, we’ll share unforgettable experiences with entertainment fans worldwide and unmissable titles that you can enjoy only on Netflix,” says Don Kang, VP of Content (Korea), Netflix.
K-Romance lovers will find new shows, such as Captivating the King, intriguing. Queen of Tears is another romantic drama series that fans are desperately waiting for, primarily due to the long-awaited return of Kim Ji-won (My Liberation Notes) and Kim Soo-hyun (It’s Okay Not To Be Okay) to the genre. Resident Playbook will serve as the official spin-off to the popular Hospital Playlist series. In addition, Doctor Slump is a rom-com series with just enough pinch of medical drama.
If you guys strongly crave suspense, you should go for shows like A Killer Paradox, featuring Son Suk-ku (D.P.) and Choi Woo-sik (Parasite). The Bequeathed will be a blend of dark secrets and murders. The Frog will try to solve a mysterious case in a motel deep inside the woods. On the other hand, The Whirlwind will deal with a political feud that soon takes a heinous form.
Plenty of twists and turns are expected to be found in upcoming entries like Hierarchy, The Trunk, and Mr. Plankton. Whereas, viewers may go bonkers while watching The 8 Show and Chicken Nugget. Both these entries will surely make you laugh out loud.
