Netflix has finally unveiled the release date for its much-awaited series ‘Berlin’. The Money Heist spin-off series premieres on Netflix worldwide on 29th December 2023. The streaming giant has also revealed a new, one-minute long teaser for ‘Berlin’, which shows off the lead ‘ Pedro Alonso in the titular role.
A new series from the Money Heist universe, ‘Berlin’ will focus solely on Berlin, the bold and colorful brother of ‘The Professor’ (Álvaro Morte) in Money Heist. A prequel to La Casa De Papel, the series will depict Berlin’s younger days, and how he plays mastermind to a few heists of his own.
‘Berlin’, like Money Heist before it, shows how Berlin shepherds a team of passionate and skilled youngsters, to pull off a heist for the ages – he and his team plan to rob precious jewels from one of the oldest and most prestigious auction houses in the country. Like The Professor in Money Heist, he trains his young protégés to pull off a flawless robbery.
The team that Berlin assembles in ‘Berlin’ the series includes Keila, a cybersecurity expert; Damián, an academic and Berlin’s close friend; Cameron, a fearless loose cannon; Roi, a locksmith; and Bruce, skilled in gadgets and weaponry.
The new teaser for Berlin also shows a mysterious woman who Berlin seduces and romances. The first season of Berlin is written by Esther Martinez Lobato and Alex Pina, and will consist of eight episodes
The cast of Berlin includes Pedro Alonso as Berlin, Michelle Jenner as Keila, Tristán Ulloa as Damián, Begoña Vargas as Cameron, Julio Peña as Roi, and Joel Sánchez as Bruce, among others.
