Netflix has dropped the official teaser of Maestro – written, directed and led by Bradley Cooper.
The forthcoming biographical drama will explore the life of the legendary music composer Leonard Bernstein and his complicated relationship with his wife, Felicia Montealegre Cohn Bernstein (played by Carey Mulligan). Additionally, the film will focus on Leonard Bernstein’s alleged affairs with men; the most notorious among them was the one with a clarinet player (played by Matt Bomer).
Bernstein is best known for his work in Broadway musical ‘West Side Story’. In addition, he received many accolades in his illustrious career, including seven Emmys, 16 Grammy Awards, two Tony Awards, and more.
Bradley Cooper’s transformation as Bernstein looks breathtaking. In Maestro’s trailer, we see his character sitting under a tree with his wife. The film appears to be a masterful blend of ‘black and white’ and coloured scenes.
The upcoming biopic is sure to headline this year’s awards race. It is scheduled to come out in limited theatres in November this year. After that, it will arrive on Netflix on December 20.
Legendary filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Martin Scorsese have also served as Maestro’s producers. The film stars Bradley Cooper, Carey Mulligan, Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, Sarah Silverman, and more. Stay tuned for more updates.
