Streaming behemoth Netflix seems to have the proverbial magician’s hat in its possession, from which it pulls out one rabbit after the other, to delight millions of Netflix users. This evening, the streamer announced its latest surprise – a spy series, titled ‘Treason’. The series is headlined by popular ‘Daredevil’ star, Charlie Cox.
‘Treason’ will be a limited series, consisting of only five episodes. Netflix has also revealed the release date for ‘Treason’. The show will premiere on Netflix as a Boxing Day treat, which is December 26th, 2022.
‘Treason’ follows an M16 spy, Adam Lawrence, whose past comes back to haunt him. Charlie Cox plays Adam Lawrence; Oona Chaplin will play his wife, Maddy De Costa; while Olga Kurylenko plays Kara Yerzov, a spy from Adam’s past. Cirian Hinds and Tracy Ifeachor also star in ‘Treason’.
The official Netflix synopsis of ‘Treason’ is as follows –
“Trained and groomed by MI6, Adam Lawrence’s career seems set. But when the past catches up with him in the form of Kara, a Russian spy with whom he shares a complicated past, he is forced to question everything and everyone in his life. A triangular relationship forms between Kara, Adam and his wife, Maddy; three people who are trying to expose each other’s secrets, navigate political and diplomatic relationships, whilst hanging onto their personal lives, and those they love most.”
