Back in February, Netflix released a brilliant documentary mini-series titled ‘Amend: The Fight for America‘ which was hosted by Hollywood heavyweight, Will Smith. In this brand new one-of-a-kind TV series, Will Smith and various other celebrities come on the docu-series to talk about equality and freedom, and how it is not distributed equally among every citizen in the United States of America. A few hours ago, Netflix made the entire season available on its official YouTube channel. Check out the link for the first episode of the series, at the end of this article.
This documentary series takes us through the history of America – from the time it gained independence and became a nation, through the time of slavery, how everyone got freedom and equality, the people who sacrificed their lives for the greater good and the continuing struggle that Americans still face as a nation. “All people are created equal but not treated the same” – this important quote resonates with this 6-episode documentary series.
This six-hour docuseries was created by Robe Imbriano and Tom Yellin. Featuring a narrative format, notable personalities like Mahershala Ali, Samuel L. Jackson, Diana Lane, Pedro Pascal, Yara Shahidi, and others join aforementioned host Will Smith in showing important quotes and achievements throughout history. They will also outline certain speeches and writings by the Fourteenth Amendment’s most passionate champions and enemies such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Frederick Douglass, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Andrew Johnson, among many others. The show also gives valuable insights from current thought leaders and experts on the subject matter.
All 6 episodes of ‘Amend: The Fight for America’ is currently streaming on Netflix. They are now also available for viewing on YouTube on Netflix’s official account.
