Netflix’s globally prominent and widely acclaimed miniseries Baby Reindeer leads the 2025 BAFTA Television Awards and BAFTA Television Craft Awards. The celebration of this year’s film category by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts took place a little over a month ago. The show has bagged a total of eight nominations.
Following Baby Reindeer, other hit shows such as ITV’s Mr Bates vs the Post Office, Slow Horses from Apple TV+, and Rivals from Disney+ have received six nominations each.
The popular British television network BBC leads the 2025 BAFTA TV Awards with an impressive 75 nominations. Following closely behind are other networks and streaming platforms, including Channel 4 (27 nominations), Netflix (26), ITV (21), Sky (23), Disney+ (15), Apple TV+ (13), Channel Five (two), and Paramount and Prime Video (one each).
Sensational acting talents like David Tennant, Gary Oldman, Toby Jones, Martin Freeman, and more have been nominated in the Leading Actor category. Meanwhile, powerhouse female performers such as Billie Piper, Anna Maxwell Martin, Marisa Abela, Lola Petticrew, Sharon D. Clarke, and Monica Dolan have secured nominations in the Leading Actress category.
Acclaimed shows like Shōgun and True Detective: Night Country have been nominated in the Best International Programme category.
London will host the BAFTA TV Craft Awards on April 27 at The Brewery, followed by the main BAFTA TV Awards on May 11 at the Royal Festival Hall, which will be broadcast on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with Alan Cumming as host. The nominations for both events are listed below.
