Jerry Bruckheimer has revealed that Netflix’s Beverly Hills Cop 4 has received a production date. According to the producer, the production work for the upcoming Eddie Murphy starrer will commence next week or in 10 days.
In a recent interview with ComicBook.com, Bruckheimer disclosed, “Well, we’re making another Beverly Hills cop. We start that in like a week or 10 days and that’s gonna be for Netflix.”
It is great news for Eddie Murphy fans. The last Beverly Hills Cop entry (1994) nearly bombed at the box office and received mostly negative reviews for poor script and humour.
The franchise could not have asked for a better start than the first BHC film (1984). Helmed by Martin Brest, the movie earned more than $300 million at the global box office against the $13 million budget.
In addition to Beverly Hills Cop 4, Jerry confirmed that National Treasure 3 is currently under development. His team has finished the film’s script. Now, they are just waiting for Nicholas Cage’s approval.
“Let’s hope we’re working on the script right now. Hopefully [Cage] likes it, but it’s really good. So I think we’ll get it to him shortly,” Bruckheimer said.
Jerry Bruckheimer served as one of the producers of Top Gun: Maverick. The highly anticipated sequel broke several box office records and became the highest-grossing movie of Tom Cruise’s career.
