Top research, analytics and tracking company Nielsen has released its expanded streaming charts for the US, for the New Year week. And the top spot has been bagged by none other than Netflix’s super successful Shonda Rhimes show, Bridgerton.
Bridgerton clocked in a massive 2.648 billion minutes of viewing between 28th December to 3rd January. The series was followed by Cobra Kai and Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina for the next two spots with 2.606 billion minutes and 961 million minutes of viewing. Both are Netflix originals. Netflix dominated the Top Ten list, in which The Mandalorian is the only non-Netflix show to get a spot – it is at the 5th place, with 707 million minutes of viewing.
For the first time in its short span of tracking streaming content in the US, Nielsen has released three separate lists – one for Originals, one for movies and one for acquired shows. It will continue to track and rank streaming content according to the aforementioned three lists.
