Netflix India has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming original series ‘Dabba Cartel’ where middle class ambitions meet high stakes crime. Directed by Hitesh Bhatia, ‘Dabba Cartel’ will premiere only on Netflix on 28th February, 2025.
Set in Mumbai’s Thane, ‘Dabba Cartel’ follows a group of five women who operate a drug delivery operation under the disguise of dabba (tiffin) service. Though handled by women the cartel is under threat when men who are employees at a pharmaceutical company called Viva Life and are at the center of the syndicate, come under investigation for an illegal drug called Modella being sold completely unregulated in the market.
‘Dabba Cartel’s’ trailer promises thrill, drama, mystery, and suspense with a bit of humour. The women of the show have this unique yet very relatable quality where they do not shy away from their weakness yet are courageous in their own ways. Apparently life has taught them to be that way in order to survive and thrive and looks like they are doing it pretty well.
If the trailer is to go by ‘Dabba Cartel’ does not believe in pseudo feminism despite having women in the spotlight. The fact that society in reality is heavily controlled by men is conspicuous in the trailer. At the same time these women are not ready to back down and stand solid amidst all the crisis even if they are scared as hell inside.
‘Dabba Cartel’ is created by Shibani Akhtar, Vishnu Menon, Gaurav Kapur, and Akanksha Seda and stars an ensemble cast that includes Shabana Azmi, Gajraj Rao, Jyotika, Nimisha Sajayan, Shalini Pandey, Anjali Anand, Sai Tamhankar, Jisshu Sengupta, Lillete Dubey and Bhupendra Singh Jadawat.
Produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, ‘Dabba Cartel’ will land exclusively on Netflix on 28th February, 2025.
