You may remember Binged informing you all about the new steps that Netflix would take against password sharing. According to data, about 100 million subscribers use Netflix through password sharing.
As Netflix fails to create any alternate source of income they are trying to cash their existing subscribers through password sharing. About 5 years ago, the same Netflix was promoting the use of password sharing in their tweets and now the devised ways will anyways hamper the experience of legit subscribers.
Regardless, Netflix planned to identify password sharing by logging in to the same WiFi network once every 31 days. There were various nuances to the same plan but now things have gone south.
Many users have called out the problems with the new plan. Now, Netflix has disowned the plan by calling it a mistake. But we know that it wasn’t a mistake.
No one can post such a detailed blueprint out of the blue. There must have been plans to execute the plan but anyways, it is canceled.
The disowning came out after a severe backlash from the audience when many people downright rejected renewing their subscriptions.
So currently the stand is, that Netflix won’t be going forward with the proposed plan and will come up with new changes.
But amidst all these mess-ups, we are missing a major point. Does this damage control help Netflix in any way? Won’t it make them look even more ridiculous?
Yes, we think so and it is quite evident through reactions on the web. Currently, the most important thing for Netflix is to regain the trust and love it once had. Otherwise, all other efforts will go in vain.
