‘Warrior Nun’, initially conceptualized as a movie, was later re-imagined as a television series for Netflix. The decision paid off and the biblical coming-of-age series, upon its warm reception on Netflix, was quickly renewed for a second season. Fans have been waiting for Season 2 for a while now and finally, the series has a release date!
The fantasy drama series’ second season is set to release on the streamer on November 10. Besides the release date, Netflix has also released an action-packed trailer and first-look images. ‘Warrior Nun’ revolves around the story of Ava, a 19-year-old woman who wakes up in a morgue with a divine artifact embedded in her back. She then discovers she is now part of an ancient order that has been tasked with fighting demons on Earth, and that powerful forces representing both heaven and hell want to find and control her. Her exploits as she comes to terms with her new life form the premise of the series.
At the end of the first season of ‘Warrior Nun’, we see the fallen angel Adriel released from his tomb, helped unknowingly by Ava and the Sister Warriors. This season we will reportedly see the badass nuns coming back with vengeance to fight against Adriel as he attempts to build his following into the dominant religion on the planet.
The series is frequently called one of the most underrated series on Netflix. With rich lore, the live adaptation of a comic book character was praised for the committed performances by the cast and the excellent fight choreography. With just 10 episodes in the first season, the series is definitely worth a try. Who knows, maybe you may end up liking it. The good news then? You won’t have to wait 2 years to watch the next season like the rest of us.
