Netflix has finally released the trailer for its hotly awaited new Indian original show ‘Guns And Gulaabs’. The Raj & DK directed show premieres on Netflix worldwide on 18th August, 2023.
The Guns And Gulaabs trailer is everything that fans of nineties’ action movies have been looking forward to, ever since Netflix announced the series. The trailer of the crime drama, set in the nineties, in true Bollywood style, features foot-tapping Bollywood numbers of the time. Usha Uthup’s “Rambha Ho” riffs elegantly in the background, as the myriad characters that populate the series go about their shenanigans.
And believe us when we tell you, each character in Guns And Gulaabs is more compelling than the next. There’s Satish Kaushik’s crime-lord Ganchi, his silly son Chhota Ganchi (Adarsh Gourav); cunning cop Arjun (Dulquer Salmaan); naive mechanic cum hitman who kills with a spanner aka ‘paana’, Paana Tipu (Rajkummar Rao); and finally, contract killer Four Cut Atmaram (Gulshan Devaiah).
The characters in Guns And Gulaabs are bold and badass, edgy and entertaining – a testament to Raj & DK’s formidable writing and directing skills. The duo has created, written, produced and directed Guns And Gulaabs for Netflix. Frequent collaborator Suman Kumar is co-writer of the series.
The trailer is packed with both thrilling moments and hilarious sequences, giving us a clue of what to expect from the series. ‘Guns And Gulaabs’ is easily one of the most buzzy new shows on the horizon for Indian viewers. The trailer too brims with all the elements that make Raj & DK’s creations such a compelling watch.
The trailer gives us glimpses of the rest of the cast of Guns And Gulaabs too. Pooja Gor, Satish Kaushik, Vipin Sharma, Shreya Dhanwanthary, Manuj Sharma and T J Bhanu make interesting appearances in the trailer of the series. Guns And Gulaabs will be one of Satish Kaushik’s final screen appearances since his passing away in March this year.
Set in the nineties, the story of ‘Guns And Gulaabs’ is inspired by the misfits of the world, and depicts love and innocence, set in a world of crime. The crime and comedy thriller comes with all the trademark Raj & DK bells and whistles – romance, drama, emotion, action and humour.
The official Netflix synopsis for Guns And Gulaabs reads – “In the cartel-run town of Gulaabganj, an unprecedented opium deal pulls a big-city cop and a lovesick mechanic into its chaotic clutches.”
