Netflix’s ’Hierarchy’ Trailer: Taut With Mystery, Scandal & Romance

Netflix has released the trailer for its upcoming Korean drama ‘Hierarchy’ and it’s all about the dark scandal and social upheaval at Jooshin High School. Directed by Bae Hyeon-jin (‘Start Up’, ‘Big Mouth’, ‘Alchemy of Souls) and written by Chu Hye-mi (‘About Time’), ‘Hierarchy’ will premiere globally on 7th June, 2024 on Netflix.

‘Hierarchy’ trailer begins on a chilly note and that sets the tone for a series wrapped in mystery and scandal. As news of a student’s death becomes public, tension grows and secrets slowly begin to unravel.

At Jooshin High School, the air is thick with privilege and hidden agendas. This elite playground is ruled by school queen Jung Jae-i (Roh Jeong-eui) and her boyfriend, Kim Ri-an (Kim Jae-won), known as the king. Their reign is unchallenged until Kang Ha (Lee Chae-min), a scholarship student with a vendetta, transfers in. Driven by revenge, his presence begins to disrupt the intricate web of relationships at the top. Alongside them, Yoon He-ra (Chi Hae-won) and Lee Woo-jin (Lee Won-jeong) complete the circle of exclusive students who govern the school.

The trailer also captures the tension-filled conflict between Ri-an and Kang Ha while teasing a shake-up in the school’s social order as Jae-i tells Ri-an she wants to break up. What chaos will this cause in their tightly-knit group?

‘Hierarchy’ unfolds in a prestigious private high school governed by a rigid social hierarchy that reflects the corruption often seen in adult society, complete with the inevitable gossip, scandal and conflict. The teaser reveals a world where the children of the rich hold sway with their money and social rank.

The series features a cast of promising new actors, led by Roh Jeong-eui (‘Badland Hunters’, ‘Our Beloved Summer’) as Jung Jae-i, the most popular girl in school and dubbed as the queen. Following her is Lee Chae-min (‘Crash Course in Romance’, Alchemy of Souls’) as Kang Ha, the scholarship transfer who shakes things up in their world. Kim Jae-won (‘King the Land’, ‘Our Blues’) plays Kim Ri-an, Jae-i’s boyfriend and the school’s king. Rounding out the group of popular students are Chi Hae-won as Yoon He-ra and Lee Won-jeong as Lee Woo-jin.

With a mysterious death, a new student and bold moves that threaten the established order, secrets will come to light amid these unsettling events at Jooshin High School. Find out all about it on 7th June, 2024 when ‘Hierarchy’ premieres, exclusively on Netflix.
