Acclaimed director Yeon Sang-ho has written and directed Netflix’s ‘Parasyte: The Grey’. Film lovers will know him as the creator of films and series such as ‘Train To Busan’, ‘Hellbound’, ‘JUNG_E’, ‘The Bequeathed’, among others.
The first trailer for ‘Parasyte: The Grey’ lets us in on the plot and narrative of the series. Unidentified parasItes have appeared all around the world to threaten humanity by seizing human brains and organizing themselves to grow in power. However, one girl, Su-in (Jeon So-nee, Our Blooming Youth, Scripting Your Destiny, Soulmate, Bad Police), is lucky that the parasite fails to take over her brain completely. Which means she must learn to coexist with the parasite in her body, and use it to get rid of the parasite invasion.
She’s helped in her mission by Jun-Kyung (Lee Jung-hyun; Limit, Decision to Leave, Night of the Undead), who is the head of a parasite-fighting organisation called ‘Team Grey’. Kang-woo (Koo Kyo-hwan, D.P., Kingdom: Ashin of the North, Kill Boksoon, Escape from Mogadishu) also wants to fight the parasites in his quest to find his missing sister.
The ‘Parasyte: The Grey’ trailer shows the brutality and violence that the parasites are capable of, and how they gain full control of their human carriers. The official synopsis of Parasyte: The Grey reads – “When unidentified parasites violently take over human hosts and gain power, humanity must rise to combat the growing threat”.
