This evening, Netflix revealed an intriguing promo for its highly anticipated film, ‘Khufiya’. The first ever promo for the upcoming spy thriller film is as secretive as the story it is based upon. Created and directed by eminent filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj, Khufiya is slated to premiere soon on Netflix.
Spy thriller film ‘Khufiya’ is Vishal Bhardwaj’s OTT film debut. The filmmaker also has a series coming up on Sony LIV soon, titled ‘Charlie Chopra And The Mystery Of Solang Valley’.
The promo for ‘Khufiya’ is quirky and enigmatic. It features the lead cast of the series in a befuddled, gobsmacked state of mind; and all because their director Vishal Bhardwaj has taken being ‘Khufiya’ too far. Tabu, Ali Fazal and Wamiqa Gabbi are all left in the dark, as Vishal Bhardwaj refuses to spill the beans on all things Khufiya.
For the unversed, Khufiya means surreptitious, covert, clandestine in English – all concepts associated with the enigmatic world of spies and intelligence agencies.
Netflix’s ‘Khufiya‘ features a storyline inspired by true events. ‘Khufiya’ is based on the espionage novel ‘Escape to Nowhere’, written by Amar Bhushan. Khufiya is a story about Krishna Mehra, a RAW agent, who is assigned to track down a mole in the organisation, who is betraying the country and selling India’s defence secrets. All along, she grapples with her dual identity of a spy and a lover. Tabu, Ali Fazal, Wamiqa Gabbi and Ashish Vidyarthi play primary characters in the thriller.
Amar Bhushan retired as special secretary in the Cabinet Secretariat in 2005, and his book ‘Escape To Nowhere’ is a detailed and inside look at the workings of India’s premier intelligence agency. This makes Khufiya one of the most exciting films to come up on Netflix soon.
Khufiya premieres soon on Netflix worldwide. Have a look at the new promo for the spy thriller film –
