In terms of thrillers, Netflix is a massive oven, and this has all the possibility to be lost in the vast scenario. Still, the partnership between Netflix and Tyler Perry might not seem that fruitless.
Back on February 23rd, 2023, the news was confirmed about the alliance of Perry and Netflix regarding writing, directing, and producing Mea Culpa, but there was no release window mentioned.
This project will also mark the fifth collaboration between Tyler and Netflix. Prior to this, he has been associated with A Fall From Grace, A Madea Homecoming, A Jazzman’s Blues, and Six Triple Eight.
Now, these are not the most impressive linchpins, as none of them got a major breakthrough. Still, Tyler’s project is indeed a promising one.
Kelly Rowland will be starring in that film, as the four-time Grammy-winning musician also increases the hype of the film a bit. And as Rowland and Perry’s collaboration is gaining some traction, the latter one marked it as a “sexy thriller!!”, increasing the speculations.
Trevante Rhodes, RonReaco Lee, Sean Sagar, and Nick Sagar will also be joining the cast with Rowland.
Netflix also confirms that the film will be streaming on the platform from February 2024, possibly one underrated hit to close out February. The official trailer isn’t out yet but tune into Binged for further updates.
