Netflix released an action crime thriller series titled ‘My Name‘, last week and it has proven to be quite popular. While the Korean series may look like it rode the ‘Squid Game’ wave initially, with its slow start and predictable storyline – the series comes into its own after the first few episodes with its brilliant editing amped up the cliffhangers at the end of each episode. But that hasn’t been the (only) reason for the “second wave” of viewers coming to check out this series. No, it is because of the character, Choi Mu-jin – or rather the actor portraying the primary antagonist, Park Hee-soon.
While there has been no real proof of this fact, the below-mentioned tweets should give you guys an idea about the popularity of the aforementioned character, Choi Mu-jin and his onscreen portrayed:

While Han So-hee is the best performer on ‘My Name’ and Kim Sang-ho is quite brilliant as well, Park Hee-soon is the most memorable actor from the show. His portrayal of Choi Mu-jin gives depth to a character that many would struggle to present on the small screen. His performance is very nuanced and a rewatch of the series gives us an almost “Alan-Rickman-as-Snape-sque” performance. While the above-shown Tweets are mostly “thirst Tweets”, the Korean actor puts on one hell of a performance.
Check out ‘My Name’ which is currently streaming on Netflix.
