Netflix is already set with their Christmas releases even before Halloween has struck. October and November will see the first Holiday themed movies and series of the year. Almost all and every holiday themed movie revolves around the same topics and something utterly magical that will only seem beautiful on the screen and hence, even if we love watching these, we all know it’s too good to be true. But nevertheless, we like to indulge in these beautifully curated movies from time to time and over the years, they end up becoming some of our favourite go to movies.
Holidate
The first Christmas movie to hit Netflix is “Holidate”, releasing on the 28th of October. The movie stars Emma Roberts and Luke Bracey as the leads who are just fed up of going home on holidays and announcing to their families that they are still single and being the receiver of taunts, pitying eyes and sympathies as they are unable to find their ‘one true love’. Roberts and Bracey, complete strangers, meet each other and suddenly connect on the fact how their lives are so similar and how tired they are of their families. They hatch a plan to save each other and be each other’s fake ‘true loves’, only to find themselves completely in love with each other.
Operation Christmas Drop
This upcoming holiday rom-com has its name based off on a real life mission led by the US Department of Defense. Directed by Martin Wood, this is to be released on the 5th of November. Kat Graham and Alexander Ludwig share the screen as the leads for the movie. Kat’s character is given a duty to close off an air force base where Ludwig’s character is based. This comes around during the time of Christmas, which she has to miss and fly to this little island only to realise that this much more than what was being reported at the headquarters. There was happiness being distributed all around and one should never shut down happiness, especially when it is for a whole community.
Dash and Lily
Dash and Lily is a holiday themed series based on the young adult novel series, “Dash and Lily’s Book of Dares”. The first season is 8-episodes long and set to be released on 10th of November. It revolves around the lives of two teenage New York kids, who pass the same book back and forth filled with, dares, dreams, wishes and thoughts at random spots all around the city. This is how the romance of these young lovebirds builds up and leads to a rather interesting tale of love with a rollercoaster ride of fun, friendships, dreams and everything hopeful.
