The fourth season of the Netflix series ‘Sex Education’ will reportedly have many significant changes in the casting department. And the latest addition to the cast is ‘Sandman’ actress Andi Osho who will be appearing in a recurring role as the mother to Dua Saleh’s Cal Bowman, a character introduced in season 3.
Osho had garnered praise for her role in the fantasy series ‘Sandman’ where she played two roles. Her first role was as the granddaughter of Unity, Rose’s(Kyo Ra) benefactor and great-grandmother who has recently awakened from a century-long slumber. While the role was a minor one, it was her second role as Gault, an escaped nightmare from the Dreaming that earned her much praise.
Gault was a character that fans took notice of instantly. A nightmare that wanted to break free of its true nature and do good, the well-written character had one of the show’s best character arcs towards the later end. It was Gault who fearlessly spoke her truth to her master Dream/ Lord Morpheus(Tom Sturridge) unfazed by the probable consequences, finally having a huge impact on him to such an extent that he later recreated her, this time as a Dream.
Osho has also been seen in the 2019 DC superhero movie ‘Shazam!’ where she played the role of Ms. E.B. Glover. In a piece of interesting trivia, the cameo role is actually her reprising her role as social worker Emma Glover from director Sandberg’s debut film ‘Lights Out’.
‘Schitt’s Creek’ star Dan Levy is set to join the cast as Thomas Molloy, Maeve’s mentor while she studies in the States in the upcoming season. ‘Doctor Who’ actor Thaddea Graham is also confirmed to appear in an unconfirmed recurring role.
While Netflix had given the go-ahead for season 4 of Sex Education way back in September 2021, we are yet to have much knowledge of the series and its release date. As per the latest reports, the series will film all the way to February 2023, which means we should not expect a release anytime soon.
