Netflix’s ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’: 3 Suspects & A Relentless Cop

By Binged Bureau - Nov 11, 2024 @ 02:11 pm

Netflix has dropped the trailer of it’s upcoming original film ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ and it’s the tale of a relentless cop who ain’t ready to give up even after 18 years. Helmed by National Award winning filmmaker Neeraj Pandey, ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ will premiere only in Netflix on 29th November, 2024.

The trailer begins with an intel about an armed robbery at a diamond exhibition in 2009. Despite this prior information the robbery happens and red solitaires worth ₹50-60 crores are stolen.

The inspector in charge is a roguish, relentless cop named Jaswinder Singh (Jimmy Shergill) and his style is very instinct based which he believes to super sharp. According to him there are three suspects, one Mangesh Desai, two, Kamini Singh and three, Sikandar Sharma. The latter two are romantically involved and to get away from all this they first move away from Mumbai to Agra and later to Abu Dhabi.

But they were wrong to think that this solved their problems when 18 years later Sikandar receives a call form inspector Jaswinder who hasn’t given up on the case and is ready to go to any extent to solve it and catch the culprit. Will he be able to do it? Are the suspects the real culprits?

On the face of it the accused look innocent and that’s what is most gripping about this Neeraj Pandey film. From beginning to end the trailer tries to male the viewers believe the same as the inspector but also keeps the intrigue alive till the end. But have they given away too much in the trailer?

A heist thriller spanning across 18 years, ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ will be Pandey’s first film and overall third project with Netflix following the highly popular ’Khakee: The Bihar Chapter’ and it’s upcoming sequel season ‘Khakee: The Bengal Chapter’.

Starring Jimmy Shergill, Tamannaah Bhatia and Avinash Tiwary, ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ has story, script and direction by Neeraj Pandey and is about the robbery of diamonds worth ₹60 crores, a long search and an inspector who is not ready to accept defeat. The film also stars Rajeev Mehta and Divya Dutta.

Produced by Shital Bhatia under Friday Storytellers banner, the digital arm of Friday Filmworks founded by Neeraj Pandey and Bhatia, ‘Sikandar Ka Muqaddar’ will be coming to Netflix this 29th November, 2024.
