It seems like Netflix wants to own this year’s fall season. The streaming platform has dropped the official teaser of its upcoming fantasy-adventure film, Slumberland. Aquaman actor Jason Momoa and Marlow Barkley will lead the project. The film will arrive on the streaming platform on November 18 this year.
The movie’s plot revolves around a girl, Nemo (Barkley). She somehow discovers a secret map to Slumberland’s beautiful and oddly satisfying world. It is a world of dreams where wishes come true. Her father told her that a person could only dream of a place like Slumberland. Here, everything has turned “upside down”.
Momoa plays Flip, an eccentric outlaw who guides Nemo in Slumberland. Our protagonist seeks his aid to meet her late father again.
Apart from Barkley and Momoa, the film’s cast has Weruche Opia, India de Beaufort, Kyle Chandler, and Chris O’Dowd. Francis Lawrence, helmer of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire and both Mockingjay parts, has directed the movie. His last directional, Red Sparrow, failed to perform well in terms of box office and critical reception. Additionally, Pinar Toprak (Captain Marvel) composed the score.
Lawrence’s next film is The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, slated to hit the theatres worldwide in 2023. Slumberland will release on Netflix on November 18, 2022. Stay tuned for more updates.
