The highly anticipated Squid Game Season 2 will arrive on Netflix this year, confirmed by the streaming platform through its recent investor letter. The exact release date is yet to be revealed by the company. But we do have a brand new teaser for the upcoming season.
The newest Squid Game Season 2 teaser opens with Seong Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) entering an airport. This time, we will see the protagonist sporting red hair. Out of nowhere, he receives a call, saying, “You’ll regret your decision,” to which Gi-hun replies, “I will find you. No matter what it takes.”

Gi-hun has confirmed that the Front Man (Hwang In-ho), played by Lee Byung-hun, would come out of the shadows in Season 2, taking a lead role this time. In addition, the protagonist, Gi-hun, will be seen on the path of vengeance in the upcoming season. Both Gi-hun and the Front Man will be the key figures in the next entry.
Season 2 will feature the return of Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Gong Yoo, and Wi Ha-jun. Plus, it upcoming Squid Game entry will have talented newcomers like, Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Park Sung-hoon, Jo Yu-ri, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. Emmy winner Hwang Dong-hyuk has served as writer, helmer, and executive producer for the second season.
Despite the Hollywood strikes, Netflix plans to release Squid Game Season 2 this year. “Looking ahead, despite last year’s strikes pushing back the launch of some titles, we have a big, bold slate for 2024,” the streaming platform disclosed through its recent investor letter.
