Netflix‘s highly anticipated series ‘The Three-Body Problem’ from Game Of Thrones showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, has begun its casting spree. The series has tapped twelve actors to star in crucial roles, the first casting steps taken by the production team. The actors that will headline the sci-fi thriller are MCU alumni Benedict Wong (Dr Strange) and Tsai Chin (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings), GoT alumni John Bradley and Liam Cunningham.
Also cast in the series are Jovan Adepo (Watchmen), Eiza Gonzalez (I Care A Lot), Jess Hong (Inked: The Brokenwood Mysteries), Marlo Kelly (Dare Me), Alex Sharp (The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time), Sea Shimooka (Pink Skies Ahead), Zine Tseng and Saamer Usmani (Succession).
Netflix’s ‘Three-Body Problem’ is based on the best sci-fi novels trilogy of the 21st century – ‘The Remembrance of Earth’s Past’, better know by the name of the first novel, The Three-Body Problem. The Dark Forest, and Death’s End are the titles for the next two novels in the series. GoT creators and showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss head the epic series. The multiple award-winning novels by Chinese novelist Liu Cixin are being adapted into a larger than life, multi-season series. Liu Cixin and the American translator of the novels, Ken Liu, are also a part of the creative team as consulting producers.
Alexander Woo has written the adaptation, along with David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. The three are also executive-producing the series, along with Rian Johnson, Brad Pitt and Rosamund Pike. The Three Body Problem has won major reader appreciation, for its riveting, edge of the seat premise, dealing with time and space travel.
The story is said to be more epic than Game Of Thrones, more mind-bending than Dark, and more thrilling than Westworld. The narrative spans several generations, and over 450 years, with time jumps and alternate universes adding to the intrigue.
