Netflix has just dropped the trailer for its upcoming romantic drama series ‘Tooth Pari’. And the 2-minute long trailer gives considerable hint of what viewers can expect when the series premieres worldwide on Netflix on 20th April, 2023.
The series centers on a vampire girl, who falls in love with a human boy, a dentist. Going by the basic premise, one would expect that ‘Tooth Pari’ will be Indian streaming entertainment’s answer to the Hollywood blockbuster film series ‘Twilight’. Far from it. ‘Tooth Pari’ has all the fantasy elements of Twilight, including forbidden love, superhuman powers and the like. But that’s just about it.
The ‘Tooth Pari’ trailer suggests that the series will depict a clash of two worlds – of humans and vampires, with the two lovebirds caught in the chaos. Shantanu Maheshwari Shantanu Maheshwari plays Roy, the soft-spoken, faint-hearted human dentist, while Tanya Maniktala plays Rumi, the pretty vampire girl.
We catch a glimpse of the remaining cast of ‘Tooth Pari’ in the trailer. Sikandar Kher is seen as a police officer, who’s tasked with capturing the vampire girl. Adil Hussain and Revathy play all-powerful members of the vampire community. Saswata Chatterjee, Tillotama Shome, Avijit Dutt and Anindita Bose also appear for fleeting seconds in the trailer.
The series is produced by Endemol Shine India, created & directed by Pratim Dasgupta, and written by Pratim Dasgupta and Sejal Pasichia.
