Disney Plus Hotstar has just released the trailer of its upcoming Tamil film, “Netrikann”, Nayanthara’s highly anticipated crime thriller. Disney Plus Hotstar has also revealed the Netrikann release date, alongside its trailer. Nayanthara fans will be glad to know that Netrikann releases on Disney Plus Hotstar on 13th August just in time to engage viewers in the Independence Day weekend.
Directed by Milind Rau, the Netrikann cast includes Nayanthara, along with Ajmal, Manikandan and Saran in key roles. The film is produced by Vignesh Shivan, under his banner “Rowdy Pictures”. Netrikann is co-produced by Kross Pictures and K.S. Mayilvaganan.
The two-minute long trailer shows Nayanthara as a blind girl, whose other senses are sharp as a razor, allowing her to pick up random clues that those with sight cannot. Ajmal Ameer plays a serial killer, who’s tortured and killed twelve other girls, and the police has never caught wind of his criminal life. But his run-in with the blind girl costs him dear. He is determined to kill her, and she is determined to see him getting justice for his crimes. A police investigator, played by Manikandan, and a young delivery boy, played by Saran, are her only two allies in her quest.
The trailer amply conveys that Netrikann will be a gripping, edge-of-the-seat thriller, with plenty of exciting moments to keep viewers hooked. It is a remake of the Korean film, “Blind”, as is quite apparent from the Netrikann trailer. Yet, Netrikann promises to be a crime thriller worth watching out for.
