ZEE5 dropped the official trailer of its upcoming, highly anticipated web series Never Kiss Your Best Friend, and believe us when we tell you, it’s absolutely lit.
The trailer shows TV hunk Nakuul Mehta in a never-seen-before avatar. We’ve always seen him essaying staid and serious roles in all his previous outings. This fun-loving, prankster Nakuul, playing the lead character of Sumer Singh Dhillon, is a revelation.
Anya Singh, playing Sumer’s best friend Tanie Brar radiates gorgeousness, with her winsome smile and naturally beautiful looks. Niki Aneja Walia is seen as Tanie’s mother.
The trailer begins with the two best friends meeting after five years of separation, and taking up their friendship like they’d never been away from each other. The narrative is punctuated by hilarious moments, cute banter and funny interludes, along with some tear-shedding and angst. The chemistry between the two is palpable. The series is adapted from Sumrit Shahi’s novel of the same name.
The song that accompanies the trailer is peppy, upbeat and contemporary, in keeping with the overall feel and milieu of the narrative. It lends a happy vibe to the trailer.
From the looks of it, ZEE5 has a winner in its hands.
Never Kiss Your Best Friend premieres on ZEE5 on 20th January 2020.
