Adding to the list of in-development book adaptations, A24 and Apple are working to bring Michael Lewis book “Going Infinite: Rise and Fall of a New Tycoon” to the screens. The boo revolves around the rise and fall of the cryptocurrency market and the man behind the idea, Sam Bankman-Fried. Released in 2023, it soon climbed the ranks to be a New York Times bestseller.
Sam Bankman-Fried started the market for these digital tokens. This digital currency allowed people to make payments directly to each other through an online system. The lack of any intrinsic value of cryptocurrency makes it rather unpredictable. Any factors like political uncertainty, geopolitical tensions, and economic data can and do cause a change in the market value.
Going Infinite will dive into the insane rise in popularity and value of the crypto market and the implosion that followed while revolving around Sam Bankman-Fried. The man was convicted for charges that included fraud and money laundering.
The script is in works already. Being written by Lena Dunham, who is recognized for her work on projects like the highly acclaimed series “Girls” on HBO. She received a number of Emmy nominations and even a Golden Globe for the same.
A24 might be the best option out there to make a book adaptation. The fans already keep requesting more of the fiction adaptations. It is to be seen how A24 makes work of a book like Going Infinite. As of now, the studio is set to release its next project on November 27, 2024, starring Daniel Craig in Queer.
