The South Korean industry has always given wonderful movies and series from the genre of horror or thriller. It has also given some of the best zombie Apocalypse dramas in all over the world. We got ‘Train To Busan’ from South Korea, which went on to be highly popular all over the world. We also got shows like ‘All Of Us Are Dead’, ‘Sweet Home’ and more.
Now, another new series has been announced on the subject of zombie apocalypse. It has been titled ‘Newtopia’ and stars Park Jung-Min and Jisoo. Park Jung-Min is known for his wonderful performances in shows like ‘Hellbound’ and ‘Smugglers’. And Jisoo is a well-known celebrity of the Blackpink and fans are excited to have her in another acting role. Park and Jisoo play lovers who are looking for each other in a zombie infected Seoul. Jisoo plays an engineering student and Park plays an older soldier. The plot details of the series will be clearer when the trailer gets released. ‘Newtopia’ was previously titled ‘Influenza’.
The show has been written by an Academy Award winning writer Han Jin Won, who has previously written the script for ‘Parasite’. Ji Ho-Jin is co-writing the show with him. ‘Newtopia’ has as its director Yoon Sung-Hyun. This is his debut venture in Television but he is known for previously directing movies like ‘Bleak Night’ and ‘Time To Hunt’.
