Keanu Reeves cemented himself as one of the greatest hitmen in pop culture history with his portrayal of the bloodthirsty John Wick. And now, the franchise returns with its next installment with Cuban-Spanish star Ana de Armas at the crux of it.
Sandwiched between the timelines of John Wick 3 and 4, is the new feature film ‘Ballerina’. Set to hit theatres worldwide on June 6, 2025, the action thriller will also feature Norman Reedus, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Anjelica Huston, Ian McShane, Gabriel Byrne, Lance Reddick, and best of all Keanu Reeves, who will reprise his role as the legendary hitman.
Following the lead of de Armas’ bone-crunching sequence in ‘No Time to Die’, ‘Ballerina’ will portray her as a deadly assassin and take her victim’s body count to newer heights. The primary reason behind this transition from ballerina to ballerina-assassin? As always, revenge. Revenge against the murders of her family.
For vengeance, Armas’ assassin will be seen making short work of several assailants, torching vehicles with flamethrowers, leaping from moving cars and trucks, and engaging in brutal hand-to-hand combat. However, this is what’s expected. Lionsgate’s John Wick franchise is infamous for surprising and catching audiences off guard.
Only can only hope to be thrown off guard yet again!
