Popular Malayalam actress Nimisha Sajayan who has enthralled us all with her superlative performance in critically acclaimed Malayalam films, is set to make her debut in Marathi cinema with Mahesh Tilekar’s slice of life drama Hawa Hawai (2022) which is set to be released on 7 October 2022.
The recently released trailer, which has been receiving positive response from the public, gives us a fair idea about the film’s plot and Nimisha’s character in the film. Set in Pune, it seems the film traces the struggling journey of Nimisha’s character from a middle class housewife to a successful businesswoman after she opens a stall to manage the daily expenses of her house after her husband loses his job.
Many of Nimisha’s fans are unaware of the fact that Nimisha was born and brought up in Mumbai. The actress made her Malayalam debut in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum (2017) where she left her mark despite featuring alongside big names such as Fahadh Faasil and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Since then, Nimisha Sajayan has already left a big mark in Malayalam film industry in her short acting career by featuring in critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful films such as Oru Kuprasidha Payyan (2018) for which she won the Award for Best Actress at the 49th Kerala State Film Awards, Chola (2019), The Great Indian Kitchen (2020), Nayattu (2021), and Malik (2021).
Apart from her Marathi debut Hawa Hawai, the actress is also set to make Hindi debut with Onir’s ‘We Are’. Meanwhile, Nimisha Sajayan, was last seen in Malayalam action comedy Oru Thekkan Thallu Case (2022), which was helmed by Sreejith N.
Along with Nimisha Sajayan, Hawa Hawai also features Ankit Mohan, Siddharth Jadhav, Kishori Godbole and veteran actress Varsha Usgaonkar. Along with direction, Mahesh Tilekar has edited, wrote, and produced the film under his home production Marathi Tarka Productions.
