Telugu film, Check starring Nithin and Rakul Preet Singh is all set for a grand release on the 26th of this month in theaters. The movie directed by critically-acclaimed director, Chandrasekhar Yeleti also stars Priya Varrier as another female lead. Going by the title and Yeleti’s past record, the movie sounds like an intelligent thriller.
The movie was ready even before the Lockdown but could not release during the pandemic. Interestingly, many opined that it is a film that should have landed on OTT as it will cater more to such an audience. The Check team did get many offers from various OTT platforms but they chose to release the film in theaters only.
Interestingly, Bhavya Creations – the production house behind the film skipped theatrical release for two of its films during the Lockdown. O Pittakatha and Middle Class Melodies have released on Amazon Prime Video. Middle Class Melodies is one of the biggest hits in Telugu on OTT last year. We will have to see if Check will prove everyone wrong and perform well in theaters as well.
Nithin plays a prisoner, Aditya who is awarded a death sentence in the film. Around 70% of the film happens in jail.
