The much anticipated trailer for the Lady Superstar, Nayanthara’s upcoming Malayalam thriller ‘Nizhal’ dropped on Anto Joseph Film Company’s official YouTube channel. She will share the screen with Kuchacko Boban and it will be their first time acting together on the big screen (they both appeared in an item song together in the Malayalam blockbuster ‘Twenty:20’). Both actors shine in this investigative mystery film and the trailer leaves us on the edge of our seats. Check the film trailer out at the end of this article.
The movie producers have been keeping the story under heavy wraps and we finally get an idea about the plot of ‘Nizhal’ for the first time, thanks to this trailer. The promotional video kicks off with a woman talking about an incident that took place in a 2nd grade class during recess. When the teacher asked her students to tell the class a story, one boy stood up and told a murder case in frightening detail. This freaks out the children and teacher in the class. At this point, we get the first look at one of the lead protagonists, Kunchacko Boban, who asks the woman, “What was the story?”
Kunchacko is seen wearing a protective mask (presumably for his broken nose), throughout most parts of the trailer. We see people getting up as he enters a courtroom, which means that he is a judge. We also find out his character’s name is Baby. Nayanthara seems to be the mother of the boy who told the chilling murder story. The police are under orders to search for the mother and child, albeit discreetly. We do not know what happened exactly, but we see Kunchacko and Nayanthara sitting together and the male lead saying that we have to find out the “truth behind an incident” – which could possibly mean about the story the child told.
Baby seems to be investigating something but we are not told what exactly he is looking into. Award winning editor Appu N Bhattathiri will be making his directorial debut in this movie. Written by S Sanjeev, ‘Nizhal’ has five producers – Anto Joseph, Abhijith M Pillai, Badusha, Fellini TP, Ginesh Jose. With an ominous score in the background of the trailer, brilliant actors in key roles and an exceptional writer working behind the scenes – we have a feeling that this approaching mystery thriller is quickly going to be a must watch among film lovers.
Nayanthara and Kunchacko Boban’s ‘Nizhal’ is expected in theaters on Sunday, 4th April 2021.
