Sadly, none of the winning films are streaming on any Indian OTT platform. We repeat, none.
Well, Oppenheimer is sure to stream on JioCinema anytime in future but here’s the problem. Even after Oppenheimer is already streaming rent-free in the USA, JioCinema takes an eternity to stream films. They are months behind the US streaming platform. Why is it so?
It’s disappointing that Indian OTT platforms often face delays in bringing Western films on time. While it might seem like laziness or incompetence, let’s consider that delays are just something which comes as a part of the deal. However, it’s still shameful that Indian OTT services receive what seems like third-world treatment when it comes to releasing Western content.
Whatever the case may be, it is high time Indian streaming platforms reflect on the fact that Indians do not have any OTT platform to watch any BAFTA-winning film. Anatomy Of A Fall and The Holdovers are in Indian cinemas currently. Watch them if it is playing in your nearby cinemas.
