Football fanatics around the world know one thing – club football is where most professional footballers play their best football, not during International competitions. The players know their teammates and are accustomed to a certain system because it is something they are used to doing, year in year out. Now, International football has returned for a couple of weeks – and it will happen again after a few more weeks, which means European football clubs are going to be on break for a set amount of time. Fear not, for another football league is about to start a new season – The Indian Super League. This football league will not have any International breaks and it will commence next week.
The 2021-22 season of the Indian Super League season will feature 11 teams in total – ATK Mohun Bagan, Bengaluru FC, Chennaiyin FC, FC Goa, Hyderabad FC, Jamshedpur FC, Kerala Blasters, Mumbai City, Northeast United, Odisha FC and SC East Bengal. Every team will face each other twice, meaning every team will play twenty matches each – which means 110 matches will be played in total. The top four teams at the end of these 110 matches advance to the ISL playoffs.
Every day, starting from 19th November 2021, there will be an ISL football match happening at 7:30 pm IST. The final match will fall on 9th January 2021, at 7:30 pm IST (as mentioned previously). The first match will be between last year’s runner-up, ATK Mohun Bagan and last year’s second last finishing team, Kerala Blasters, while the final match will be between Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC.
The Indian Super League will begin on 19th November 2021 (as mentioned above). It will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Bangla, Malayalam and Kannada.
