Rahi Anil Barve has announced a new web series that will be starring Samantha, Aditya Roy Kapur and Wamiqa Gabbi. It will be a Netflix original and other details are yet to be revealed. This is indeed big news for Indian audiences but there is something that troubles them.
Rahi Anil Barve is expected to do wonders with original Indian stories and audiences have quite high hopes with him. He has mesmerized audiences with his epic folklore ‘Tumbbad’ and his ‘Gulkanda Tales’ is one of the most anticipated titles on OTT now. But fans are disappointed that there is still no update on Gulkanda and Barve is announcing another new show. The filmmaker took six years to complete ‘Tumbbad’ and he is showing no haste in premiering Gulkanda too. While there are rumours that the shooting has been completed, audiences do not see any reason behind this delay at all.
Barve calls himself a filmmaker who tells fairy tales to adults. ‘Tumbbad’ was rich in folk and fairy tale elements and ‘Gulkanda Tales’ too is expected to be so. It stars Pankaj Tripathi, Kunal Khemu and Patralekha and is a story of a fictional city in ancient India. Ever since the show was announced, audiences are hyped up to get any news of it but there is no update at all. Rahi Anil Barve had announced another project titled ‘Mayasabha’ that was to star Mohammed Samad and Jaaved Jaaferi. There is no update on that as well. It is frustrating for fans to wait so long and have no information on such buzzed titles. It hurts more because these titles are from a filmmaker like Barve.
