A few things can be as crazy as Citadel. New series, announcements, and trailers are everyday things. But rarely do we see something as grand, new, and extravagant as Citadel. The series is being shot in three parallels in the USA, Italy, and India.
The one we are talking about is the Citadel centered in the US. Some stills from the show were released two days back with a very short teaser. The show stars Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Richard Madden, Stanley Tucci, and Lesley Manville.
It is being developed by Russo Bros at Prime Video. While there are a few months left for the USA version of the show, filming for the Italian and Indian versions is going on at a rapid scale.
Regardless, the trailer was to be released yesterday but it couldn’t happen. The trailer is supposed to have featured a train accident scene and it is the reason it went delayed. Unfortunately, a terrifying train crash took place in Greece yesterday claiming 35+ deaths. This is the reason, Prime Video has postponed the trailer release until the next notice.
Even after that, they didn’t disappoint fans and released the official synopsis of the show.
It reads:
Otstot, and Scott Nemes for AGBO, with David Weil serving as showrunner and executive producer. Josh Appelbaum, André Nemec, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg serve as executive producers for Midnight Radio. Newton Thomas Sigel and Patrick Moran also serve as executive producers. In addition to the mothership series, headlined by Chopra Jonas and Madden, Citadel also has local language offshoots in India and Italy.
Here are more details about the show:
Eight years ago, Citadel fell. The independent global spy agency—tasked to uphold the safety and security of all people—was destroyed by operatives of Manticore, a powerful syndicate manipulating the world from the shadows. With Citadel’s fall, elite agents Mason Kane (Madden) and Nadia Sinh (Chopra Jonas) had their memories wiped as they narrowly escaped with their lives. They’ve remained hidden ever since, building new lives under new identities, unaware of their pasts. Until one night, when Mason is tracked down by his former Citadel colleague, Bernard Orlick (Stanley Tucci), who desperately needs his help to prevent Manticore from establishing a new world order. Mason seeks out his former partner, Nadia, and the two spies embark on a mission that takes them around the world in an effort to stop Manticore, all while contending with a relationship built on secrets, lies, and a dangerous-yet-undying love.
The series premieres April 28 on Prime Video with the first two episodes arriving that day. The subsequent 4 episodes will keep coming at week intervals till its finale on May 26.
