Nushrat Bharucha’s ‘Akelli’ will soon be available to watch on OTT. It will premiere on JioCinema on the 3rd of May. The movie came out on the 25th of August last year and did not work out well at the box office. Akelli is written and directed by Pranay Meshram. This was the first debut feature of the director. He had previously worked on movies like ‘Queen’.
Nushrat Bharucha plays the lead role and there are other actors like Amir Boutrous, Rajesh Jais, Tsahi Halevi.
‘Akelli’ tells the story of an ordinary Indian girl named Jyoti who tries hard to find her way back home from a war torn land. Jyoti has to go to Mosul in Iraq for her job, and she initially finds very helpful people there. But soon the place is taken over by terrorists and Jyoti finds herself to be a hostage. She is subject to cruelty and torture by the terrorists and soon the commander of the group decides to take her as a mistress. The government tries hard to protect her from the situation.
The cinematography is handled by Pushkar Singh and the music is given by Rohit Kulkarni, Hitesh Sonik, Gurshabad, Aman Pant, Mehul Vyas.
The movie will be available to watch on JioCinema from the 3rd of May.
