Official Teaser of Amazon Prime’s “Outer Range” Is Out!

Amazon Prime Video released a fresh poster and first teaser trailer of it’s original series Outer Range today. Starring Oscar Nominee Josh Brolin in the lead, the series is predominantly in the Western genre with some supernatural mystery elements and thrilling twists aiding it. The series will stream worldwide exclusively on Amazon Prime on April 15,2022.

Created by Brian Watkins, Outer Range follows Royal Abott, a tough cowboy patriarch played by Josh Brolin as he investigates the mysterious disappearance of his daughter-in-law in Wyoming.

The trailer opens to Abott offering thank you prayers before the family dinner. He then begins to question the Almighty’s intentions behind leaving a void in the family with his daughter-in-law Rebecca’s disappearance. Abott raises his voice in anger, very much reflective of the scar his daughter-in-law’s disappearance has left the family with amidst harsh survival conditions. We are then shown glimpses of The Outer Range, with strange stone carvings in the wild, military invading Abott family’s farm, mysterious super-natural air all around the locale with also wide pan shots of plains and horses like a true blue western.

From the trailer it’s evident that Watkins hasn’t created a run-of-the-mill western but a genre bending western mystery with powerful performers at the helm. Watkins also executive produces Outer Range, his debut series along with Brad Pitt’s Plan B.

Alongside Josh Brolin and Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), the series also stars Imogen Poots (I Know This Much is True), Lili Taylor, Tamara Podemski, Lweis Pullman, Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Shaun Sipos, Isabel Arraiza (The Little Things), Olive Abercrombie (The Haunting of Hill House) and Will Patton.
