Ardent viewers of Netflix‘s hit show, Peaky Blinders, will be horrified to know that fan favourite character Thomas Shelby is likely to die in the next Season 6 of the show. None other than Cillian Murphy, the actor who plays Thomas Shelby on screen, has dropped a crucial clue about Season 6 that hints that the character may sacrifice his own life to save the lives of his family members.
Peaky Blinders Season 5 had seen the killing of Ben, who was helping Thomas Shelby bring down his arch enemy Oswald Mosley. It was then revealed that Ben was the father of Shelby’s sister Ada’s unborn baby. Since Thomas partly holds himself responsible for his sister’s plight, it may happen that he will lay down his life to keep Ada and her baby safe.
Cillian Murphy says in the By Order of the Peaky Blinders book: “Even though his relationship with the greater family is complex and incredibly fraught and full of tension – as it is with Arthur, Polly and Ada – I think he would lay his life on the line for all of them.”
Is that a clue to what’s going to happen in Peaky Blinders Season 6? There is anyways strong speculation that several key characters will get killed in the new season. Will Tommy Shelby be one of them? We sure hope not.
Meanwhile, the entertainment world is rife with rumours that Rowan ‘Mr Bean’ Atkinson has been roped in to play Adolf Hitler in Peaky Blinders Season 6. The makers have outright denied the conjecture. We’ll just have to wait for Season 6 to drop, to really know what’s fact and what’s fiction.
Peaky Blinders fans simply cannot wait for its Season 6 to premiere. After the stunning cliffhanger at the end of Season 5, leaving the story on a knife’s edge, fans only want the makers to get on with bringing Peaky Blinders Season 6 quickly, to end the suspense.
As their wait gets longer — Peaky Blinders Season 6 is only likely to arrive by the end of 2021 or early 2022 — their anticipation increases with every new rumour that gains ground.
