Breaking records with his latest film ‘The Kashmir Files’, Anupam Kher has now started shoot for his next film ‘IB 71’. Helmed by ‘The Ghazi Attack’ fame director Sankalp Reddy, ‘IB 71’ is an espionage thriller starring and produced by Vidyut Jammwal.
‘IB 71’ will mark veteran actor Anupam Kher’s 523rd film and sharing this news along with some pictures form the set on social media he wrote, “And I start my 523rd film #IB71 with the highly talented and heartwarmingly humble @VidyutJammwal! ‘IB 71’ began filming this January and is the first film to be made under the banner of Action Hero Films that was founded by Vidyut Jammwal last year in April celebrating the completion of a decade in the industry. Abbas Sayyed is the co-producer of the production house.
Vidyut Jammwal will play the role of an intelligence officer in ‘IB 71’ that is set in the times before the 1971 Indo-Pak war. Aditya Shastri has written the film’s story with a screenplay from Storyhouse Films. Diwakar Dhyani (‘Ghoul’, ‘Undekhi S2’) also stars in the film.
Jammwal along with co-producer Abbas Sayyed is collaborating with Reliance Entertainment and T-Series for ‘IB 71’ to be directed by national award winning filmmaker Sankalp Reddy (‘The Ghazi Attack’, ‘Pitta Kathalu’).
Talking about the film and his production house, Vidyut Jammwal said in a statement, “Some of the most interesting episodes in Indian history have inspired ‘IB 71’. With this film, Action Hero Films pursues the endeavour to unravel a riveting story envisaged by gifted writers. I have full faith in Sankalp Reddy’s vision as a filmmaker and it is wonderful to be joining hands with Reliance Entertainment, a banner that has been synonymous with quality filmmaking.”
Director Sankalp Reddy said, “IB 71 is about what goes on before a triumph and a very different kind of heroism is at play in its story. These are the themes that I connected with when the story was narrated to me. I’m very happy that the producers have shown tremendous belief in my vision. This film is truly special for me.”
