The highly anticipated One Piece Season 2 has found its release window on Netflix. The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, the enthusiastic aspiring pirate with rubber-like abilities and the leader of the Straw Hat crew. The show draws inspiration from Eiichiro Oda’s manga and anime series of the same name.
One Piece Season 1 premiered on August 31, 2023, on Netflix and received an overwhelmingly positive response from both viewers and critics, amassing over 285 million viewing hours within the first three weeks of its release.
As per Netflix’s official announcement, the follow-up, Season 2, is expected to arrive in late 2025. According to some outlets, the second season could premiere on Netflix between October and December 2025. However, we don’t have a fixed release date for the sophomore season yet. Still, it’s great news for the show’s fanbase, who have been eagerly waiting for it.
This means we can expect a gap of more than two years between the first two seasons. The lengthy delay is due to Season 2’s production being halted by the dual Hollywood strikes in 2023.
One Piece Season 2 could potentially be released during this year’s Halloween or Christmas season, as these periods often guarantee high viewership for shows. Therefore, the gap between the first two seasons is unlikely to exceed two years and four months.
Considering One Piece’s global popularity, we should expect a shorter waiting time for Season 3. Let’s see what happens.
