Back in the year 2019, it was reported that a love story set amidst the backdrop of illegal opium smuggling in Central India was all set to be created. And now, after a gap of more than four years, the project, interestingly titled ‘Paan Parda Zarda’, has finally kicked off its filming schedule and has gone on floor from today.
The big-ticket show ‘Paan Parda Zarda’ is being described as a violent gangster drama and is backed by Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Studios and Reliance Entertainment. The series features a talented cast including Mona Singh, Tanvi Azmi, Priyanshi Painyuli, Sushant Singh, and Rajesh Tailang, amongst others.
And for the show, ‘Mirzapur’ helmer Gurmmeet Singh will be teaming up with ‘Fukrey’ film series director Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, Shilpi Dasgupta, ‘The Family Man’ writer Suparn Varma, ‘Bambai Meri Jaan’ writer Hussain Dalal, and ‘The Trial’ writer Abbas Dalal, amongst others. Gurmmeet Singh will serve as the co-director and showrunner for ‘Paan Parda Zarda’.
Until now, the OTT platform on which ‘Paan Parda Zarda’ will be released has not been officially announced yet. The crime drama series is touted to have elements of love story, action, and family drama. And it looks like the delay in the project kicking off after four years was because the research work and writing prep apparently consumed a lot of time. But that’s a good thing, because meticulous research and sharp writing are the key foundation for any web series or a feature film to turn out to be really good. Stay tuned to Binged for the latest updates on ‘Paan Parda Zarda’.
