‘Fallen Leaves’ – the critically admired romantic drama movie has been impressing critics from all over the world. The movie is the official Oscar entry from Finland, and it has already made the cut into the top 15 shortlisted films for the ‘Best International Feature Film’ Oscar category.

Helmed by Finish filmmaker Aki Kaurismaki, ‘Fallen Leaves’ is a tragic comedy which follows the story of a lonely woman named Ansa, who works an ordinary job in a supermarket in Helsinki. There, she meets a reclusive alcoholic Holappa, and they try to make their relationship work against all odds and in spite of multiple problems.
Earlier, ‘Fallen Leaves’ had bagged the Jury prize at Cannes Film Festival and later, it was also named among the top five international movies by the National Board of Review. The film has made its presence felt in several international film festivals. Moreover, ‘Fallen Leaves’ currently holds a highly impressive critics’ score of 98% on reviews aggregation portal Rotten Tomatoes.
