Pulitzer Prize-winning American author Cormac McCarthy is one of the biggest names in the literary industry. His novels, famous for their violently graphic nature often span the Western and post-apocalyptic genres.
His works ‘All The Pretty Horses’ and ‘No Country For Old Men’ have already been adapted as feature-length films. And now, another one is officially in the works. This time around, acclaimed author John Logan will be adapting the book ‘Blood Meridian’ into a feature film for director John Hillcoat.
McCarthy, who passed away in June last year, will receive a posthumous executive producer credit for the project. The project was originally set up with director James Franco and star Russell Crowe in 2016, but it fell apart over rights to the book. However, the fan-acclaimed novel is finally on its way to viewers!
Based on the historical conflicts along the Texas-Mexico border in the 1850s, ‘Blood Meridian’ follows the journey of the Kid, a teenager from Tennessee, as he navigates the cruel and harrowing landscape of the new era. Fans throughout the years have described the book as a dark masterpiece.
Logan, a three-time Oscar nominee, is renowned as the writer behind films like ‘Gladiator’, ‘The Aviator’, ‘Sweeney Todd’ and the James Bond installment ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Spectre’. No other details about the project have been revealed yet.
Having been backed up by one of the most revered plots in American literature, the film has quickly riled up fans all around the world!
