This year’s Oscars have been a close competition, with just three films winning multiple awards and generating unreal hype. However, like most good A24 films, they often get limited screenings, making OTT platforms the only survivors.
Now that the award season is over, “The Zone Of Interest,” which grabbed Oscars for Best International Feature and Best Sound, will be available for streaming from the comfort of your own home.
Currently, for audiences in the West and the USA, it’s available in VOD format on platforms such as Prime Video and Apple TV. Soon, it will also be accessible on regular OTT platforms.
According to reports, it will be available on Max from April 5th. As for the Indian audience, it’s uncertain which streaming platform it will be available on, but based on past trends, SonyLIV or Prime Video might be the platforms. However, there’s no official news yet.
As for the plot, it explores the disturbing reality of a family living beside the horrors of Auschwitz. Rudolf Höss, the camp commandant, resides in a comfortable home with his wife and children. While they maintain their picture-perfect life, the sounds of suffering and atrocities permeate their existence.
Höss even oversees the construction of new crematoria amidst his domestic routine. The film confronts the unsettling juxtaposition of everyday life and unimaginable evil.
