One more live-action adaptation of a Disney epic! But this time in good hands. Reportedly, filmmaker Sarah Polley is in talks to direct a live action version of ‘Bambi’ for Disney.
With The Little Mermaid and the recently announced Moana, Disney is expanding the world of live-action movies with sometimes positive and sometimes negative reactions. The 1942 animated movie ‘Bambi’ is now the latest one to finally be adapted again. The project was announced a few years back but there has been no update since then. Fans are excited that the movie will be coming out.
Sarah Polley is an Academy Award winning director who is known for her films like ‘Women Talking’, ‘Away From Her’ and ‘Stories We Tell’. A director with such a decorated filmography seems perfect for an ambitious Disney movie that has this much of a fan base.
Bambi was the fifth animated movie from Disney and it had a number of directors that worked day and night to create such magic. ‘Bambi’ tells the story of a young deer who gets separated from its mother and now has to survive against all difficulties and hardships of the wild world. Bambi, the deer, makes new friends and the story forwards towards a beautiful ending, like all Disney movies. The movie was nominated for three Academy Awards and was a huge phenomena. With songs like ‘Let’s Sing a Gay Little Spring Song’ and ‘Love Is a Song’ its popularity grew day by day.
Fans now wait for further news about the release of the movie and there is excitement all over the internet with the news.
